Washington County Sheriff reports the arrest of a woman for possession of heroin.

The Washington County Sheriff' reports that on October 4th Agents with the Major Crimes Task Force conducted a traffic stop on State Route 7 at Tower Road on a vehicle owned and operated by a 28 year old female from Parkersburg and a 29 year old male of Belpre, was a passenger in her vehicle and the purpose of the stop was to arrest the male at the request of his Parole Officer for violating his parole.
During the traffic stop Agents deployed a canine for a narcotics sniff which resulted in the canine indicating the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded syringes, spoons and balloons, all of which are indicators of heroin abuse or sales.

When questioned, the female stated she transported her fiancé,  to Columbus so that he could purchase heroin. She also said she took her seven and nine year old children into the residence where the man purchased the heroin. Once the male purchased the heroin, the female admitted she placed the heroin in a plastic bag and secreted it in a body cavity to transport it to Washington County. As they removed the two children from the vehicle, Agents also observed a plastic bag containing a white powder underneath one of the children.

Once reaching the jail the womam removed the heroin from inside her body and provided it to Agents. She was charged with felony offenses of possession of 15.5 grams of heroin, tampering with evidence and permitting drug abuse. The woman was also charged with child endangerment due to the fact that the syringes and drugs were accessible to the children.

She is being held without bond pending her initial court appearance this afternoon.
