Washington County Sheriff Reports arrest of suspects for possession of heroin.


On March 2nd 2012 Agents from the Washington County Major Crimes Task Force assisted by the Beverly and Marietta Police Departments and the Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested two men age 25 and 54 after agents observed an apparent drug transaction in the parking lot of a local shopping center.

The first man, who was in possession of over $4,000 dollars, was apprehended by the Marietta Police Department on IS-77 near MP-4.  The second man, who was stopped in Beverly by the Beverly Police Department and the Sheriff's Office, was in possession of the 38.5 grams of black tar heroin.  Suspect number one admitted selling and suspect number two buying the heroin.  This seizure is one of the largest seizures of black tar heroin in Washington County.
