On August 17, 2012, at 01:00 am the Washington County Sheriffs office notified the Athens County Sheriff's Office that a suspect of a breaking and entering in Washington County was possibly entering Athens County to break into the Family Dollar in Coolville.
Athens County Sheriff Patrick Kelly said deputies went to the Family Dollar in Coolville, Ohio and found that the glass to the front door had been broken out and the business had been entered. Athens County Lt. Rodney Smith made contact with Washington County and requested Washington County deputies stop the suspect vehicle. A short time later Washington County deputies advised that they had the vehicle stopped.
Athens County Detective Jack Taylor interviewed the suspect and he admitted to entering the Family Dollar. The 25 year old man of Lower Salem, Ohio was arrested and charged with breaking and entering and a parole holder was also placed on him from Washington County.
Also arrested was a female age 24, also Lower Salem, Ohio and she was charged with Complicity to Breaking and Entering she is also on parole and a parole holder was placed on her out of Washington County
Athens County and Washington County deputies continue working jointly on the investigation
