Hocking County Deputies arrest pair for Breaking and Entering

Sheriff Lanny E. North announced that on September 20, 2011 the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office arrested two male suspects age 42 and 18, both of Logan, OH.
The men are currently charged with one count of Breaking and Entering, Theft and Tampering with Evidence. Both are incarcerated in the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail awaiting their appearance before Hocking County Municipal Court Judge Pauline O’Neill. Additional charges are likely to be filed at a later date.

The suspects have been linked to committing well over 30 breaking and entering and thefts throughout the county over the last 18 months. Current information leads investigators to believe that the pair only concentrated on unoccupied residences, cabins, garages and barns. Items taken were various types of property ranging from wire, a/c units, generators, scrap metal, and firearms to personal items they could use for themselves or pawn.
A substantial amount of property has been recovered and investigators have been working to identify victims who have previously reported crimes to the Sheriff’s Office. However, investigators believe that some victims may not have reported thefts due to the residences being unoccupied. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim and not previously reported should contact the Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at (740) 385-2131.
