Holmes & Wayne Deputies arrest burglars who prey on Amish.

A man and woman were arrested for burglary Sunday morning at the conclusion of a joint investigation involving both the Holmes and Wayne County Sheriff’s office.
Arrested are a 21 year old man and woman The two were arrested after Holmes County Deputies followed them from a Holmes county address to one on Senff Road near Mt. Eaton.



Upon arrival at that address, the female went to the door of the home and knocked. After receiving no response at the door the two suspects left in their vehicle only to return a short time latter.
Upon the arrival of deputies the male was found in the process of entering the home while the female was waiting outside holding her 18 month old child.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Wayne County Jail.
Upon being interviewed the man admitted to being responsible for at total of seven burglaries in Wayne County, seven more in Holmes County and four in Knox County.
The method of operation involved targeting the homes of Amish residents on Sunday mornings.

Both suspects remain in the Wayne County Jail
