RANDOM LICENSE PLATE CHECK YIELDS THREE ARRESTS IN DELAWARE COUNTY
Sunday, November 20, a deputy with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a random license plate check on a vehicle traveling on Panhandle Road near U.S. Route 23 in Delaware . A check with the Law Enforcement Automated Data System (LEADS) revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Bainbridge Township , Ohio . The deputy initiated a traffic stop, upon which time the front seat passenger exited the vehicle and threw a plastic baggy over the side of a nearby bridge. It was later found the baggy contained 9.5 grams of cocaine. The driver was operating the vehicle which was reported stolen. The backseat passenger was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest out of Franklin County . All three were transported to the Delaware County Jail.
