Preble County Deputies arrest two men for burglary.

On December 12th at 10:55 A.M., Dep. Brad Moore and Dep. Matt Lunsford stopped a suspicious vehicle on Preble County Line Road near Greenbush Road, after receiving information from Montgomery County regarding a suspicious vehicle in German Township. In German Township, the occupants had been reported to have been knocking on doors of homes and would flee if someone answered the door. The vehicle stopped by deputies matched the description given by Montgomery County.
After K-9 “Brit” alerted to the vehicle, a preliminary search was conducted for narcotics. Further investigation by deputies and an inventory of the vehicle after it was towed by deputies revealed numerous items in the trunk which were believed to have been recently stolen. Some of the property was wrapped Christmas gifts that had been torn open.

While conducting this investigation, deputies were called to a residence in the 9100 block of State Route 725, east of Gratis on a residential burglary. Evidence located in the vehicle linked the suspects to this burglary.

Deputies eventually arrested a 27 year old man of Middletown, charging him with Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property, Theft and Falsification. The man was also wanted out on an outstanding warrant out of Montgomery County for Resisting Arrest and Possession of Methamphetamine.

A second man age 30, of Middletown, was arrested for Burglary, Receiving Stolen Property and Theft. A female who was driving the car was released. Facts surrounding her involvement will be presented to the Preble County Grand Jury in January. The men are brothers and remain in the Preble County Jail, awaiting bond. Both are also wanted by German Township Police in Montgomery County for a residential burglary which also occurred on December 12th, prior to being stopped by Preble County Deputies.

PCSO deputies continue to work with other agencies to locate property taken in these burglaries.
