Hocking county sheriff reports two brothers arrested for heroin possession.

On March 29, 2012, HCSO Sergeant Eric Matheny stopped a 30 year old male of Logan for a traffic violation. Showalter was accompanied in his vehicle by his 29 year old brother, also of Logan.

Sgt. Matheny requested Captain Alford to respond with his K9 to perform a sniff of the vehicle. K9 “J” gave a positive indication the presence of an illegal narcotic inside the vehicle.

According to Sheriff Lanny North, deputies located drug abuse instruments inside of the vehicle and recovered 45 balloons of heroin from the person of one of the suspects.
The first suspect was charged with Possession of Drugs (Heroin) (F-4), Trafficking in Drugs (Heroin) (F-4) and Tampering with Evidence (F-3).

The second suspet was charged with Complicity to Possession of Drugs (Heroin)

(F-4) and Complicity to Trafficking in Drugs (Heroin)(F-4).

Both men were transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville to await their initial appearance in Hocking County Municipal Court.
