On July 18, 2011 at 0005 hours, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a call from a resident of Brentwood Apartments, advising the an unknown male was stealing Roofing Shingles, that were stacked in the area to Re-roof the Complex buildings. The caller gave a vehicle description as the suspect was leaving the complex
Uniform Patrol Deputies who were working the apartment complex on an Extra Duty Detail, were dispatched to the scene, and upon checking the area, Sgt. Scott Elliott located the suspect vehicle and further conducted a traffic stop on E. Main St. at Security National Bank. Upon approaching the vehicle Sgt. Elliott observed several bundles of shingles in the vehicle and the driver/suspect further admitted to taking the shingles from the Brentwood Apartments.
Upon further investigation, the vehicle plates were also found to be Entered Stolen out of the City Of Springfield and the Suspect had an active Warrant for Failing to Appear for Court in Enon, Ohio.
Written statements were obtained and the suspect was arrested and taken to the Clark County Jail. It was also found that the suspect was driving under suspension.
