Hocking County Deputies Arrest Four Robbery Suspects

According to Sheriff Lanny North investigators with the Hocking County Sheriff’s Office have arrested four adults and a juvenile in connection with a robbery that occurred October 12, 2011 just outside of Carbon Hill.
All adults are currently charged with robbery but additional charges are likely in the future. Charges on the juvenile are also forthcoming.

Investigators believe the suspects lured the victims to a residence on State Route 278 last Wednesday for other pretenses, but had planned to rob the victims. The suspects all arrived together at the residence and the male suspects took up hiding places while the females waited in the vehicle along with the one of the suspects one year old son. Once the victims arrived and had gotten out of their vehicle, one of the suspects attacked the first victim while two of the others held the other victim back when he came to his friend’s aid.

Both victims were beaten and threatened with a knife while the suspects took wallets and property from the victims with the aid of the two females. At some point after his wallet was stolen, the second victim was able to wrestle away from his attackers and flee into the woods and call for help. The first victim was rendered unconscious and left by the suspects at the scene, but had regained consciousness by the time deputies arrived. The victims were transported to the hospital by family members.

All are currently being held in the SEORJ on a $50,000 cash bond imposed by Hocking County Municipal Court Judge Pauline O’Neill. The juvenile is being held in the MCJDC on probation violation charges with charges expected to be filed.
