Gallia County Sheriff Joe Browning announced that an arrest has been made in the Sunday evening shooting incident that occurred in the 1900 section of Buckeye Hills Road in Raccoon Township near the Village of Rio Grande, Ohio. Deputies arrested a 40 year old man for the shooting. The man was charged with having firearms under disability and felonious assault for shooting his girlfriend in the arm.
The shooting victim was transported to HMC and later to a Huntington, WV area hospital.
Deputies later conducted a search of the suspects home, having the Rio Grande Village Fire Dept. standby in the area due to allegations that the man was involved in meth manufacturing. No active meth products were located.
The investigation is continuing.
