On Wednesday, 06/26/13, the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 10642 Baird Road for two white males attempting to break into the residence, while the homeowner was home. While the responding deputies were enroute to the residence, the caller provided a description of the two males in a small black car.
The vehicle was observed in the driveway of 11154 Baird Road by responding deputies. Responding deputies detained the driver of the vehicle while other units surrounded the residence, believing the other suspect was hiding inside, due to signs of forced entry. It was determined the other male suspect had already fled the residence into a field where he was spotted by a Deputy.
A Lorain County Sheriffs K-9 Unit and additional deputies were able to set up a perimeter. The second male suspect was observed crawling through an overgrown field by a perimeter deputy and was subsequently apprehended by the K-9 Unit and other Deputies.
The male suspects were identified and are from the City of Elyria. Both males are suspects in numerous other burglaries from the surrounding area. Both males were taken to the Lorain County Jail and charged with Burglary, Breaking and Entering, Possession of Criminal Tools and drug related crimes.
